The ever popular flat design trend has had tons of features and write-ups this year, in the last flat design focused post from DesignWoop for 2013 I wanted to take a look at some of the most prominent examples of vibrant and bold color use in websites that utilise the flat design principles.
It’s surprising how much a logo can say about a company. The entire personality, tone and voice of the brand is represented by that one, small image and it’s the designers job to make sure that the personality of the logo matches that of the brand.
This is, of course, not easy – there are a huge number of different directions that you can go in, and each small decision you make can have a monumental impact on the tone of the final design.
I wanted to create a collection of some of my favourite logo designs that all have a stylish, elegant tone to them. These have all been created in black and white, which is a challenge in itself – but the result is a series of logos that I believe look stunning, and that help to set a mood and idea of the brand behind the design.
I hope that you find this collection interesting and inspiring, and that it gets you thinking about possible logo designs that you can create too. If you’ve come across any black and white brand identities that you think deserve to be included, I’d love to hear about them in the comments.
Utilising large fullscreen header images in your design is a great tool in a designers repository. Many sites use it to convey their message, or utilise it as a high impact landing page. Serving a rich combination of typography and imagery can help provide the user with a strong initial visual perception of the site.
Today I wanted to share a collection of sites that utilise fullscreen header imagery to great effect, hopefully these will inspire you to try out the combination on your site.
Script fonts are brilliant for adding a vintage feel to your designs, as the fonts are flowing and similar to handwriting they can also provide a personal feel to the design.
Finding decent script fonts can often be hard, there are many freely available but in some cases these often leave a lot to be desired in terms of quality. Today I wanted to share with you a collection of fairly new, beautiful script fonts I have bookmarked for future use.
